Wedding Day Essentials

I'm going to be honest here and say that there were products that I definitely had to settle with. We were still making payments up to our wedding day so I had to seriously make some grown-up compromises. With that said, I still very much like most of the products that were used for my wedding. I had my sister do the honor of being my MUA since she is an aspiring makeup artist. Frankly, I was a bit terrified but she did my makeup for my engagement party so I had a hunch that she would do well. I think she did a pretty good job considering that she's a rookie.

I didn't get to buy every item on my Sephora list but I managed to get my hands on a couple of things that I HAD TO HAVE. I was willing to compromise with a lot but I splurged on a Chanel lipstick and I also picked up a Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb gift set. I've always envisioned myself wearing a Chanel lipstick on my wedding day. Not doing so would've been a big no-no for me. I stopped by a Chanel counter at Macy's and got myself my first Chanel lipstick! I've always passed by their counter and would internally drool over the lipsticks.

I could never get myself to buy a $50 lipstick. A wedding was a pretty good excuse to finally buy one! Choosing what shade was rough too. I wanted something bold but not too out there yet while staying within the classic bridal color. I ended up getting the shade Desinvolte from the Rouge Coco Shine collection. It's a bright pink shade. So far, I've only worn it that day but I'm definitely going to be using it a lot more in the spring time.

During the weeks prior to my wedding, I thought a lot about which perfume I wanted to wear. I really love Marc Jacobs by Marc Jacobs Perfume but I also have been obsessed with Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf. I eventually opted for Flowerbomb- it's floral but has a very warming feel. I'm so happy that I made that decision because I cannot get over how good it smells! I'm glad that it will forever take me back to the day I married my favorite person.

I had 4 items that I wish I was able to use for my wedding: Makeup Forever HD Foundation, Tarte Shape Tape Concealer, Becca Highlighter and Laura Mercier Translucent Powder. I'm certain that if I used them, the finished look would've been gorgeous! I settled for my tried-and-tested Rimmel Lasting Finish Foundation. I would have used the Conceal + Perfect Foundation by Milani but the shade I have is a bit lighter than my color right now. Rather than Tarte's Shape Tape, I used L.A. Girl Pro Concealer. This concealer is honestly really great anyway, so I had zero problems. I used my essence Cosmetics Pure Highlighter, which I have been loving and using on ma daily basis so I knew that I could trust it for my wedding. I couldn't get Laura Mercier's translucent powder but my sister used her Coty Airspun Powder to lock in my makeup.

I will post photos as soon as I get them in!
