Welcome to the 4th blog post of my NYX Week series!
As previously mentioned, NYX Cosmetics had sent me a generous package filled with products that caught my eye at their launch at Queens Center Mall in Elmhurst, Queens. One of the first things that got my attention were the NYX Plush Gel Lipsticks. The display caught my eye mostly because there was a lot of shades on display. Also, I've never seen them at stores so I really wanted to see how they are.
When I was at the store, I decided to go all in and swatch every single shade! I was really attracted to the beautiful colors and I couldn't wait to play around with them. I kid you not, I did swatch every single shade in this collection. However, 3 shades really stood out to me: Pastel Dust, Breakup and Sacred Mix. Pastel Dust is as the name suggests, a pastel muted pink shade. Breakup is a brown/rose/red shade (very trendy). Sacred Mix is a dark fuchsia shade.
These swatch really beautifully! The swatches are high in pigmentation and the formula is unbelievably soft. It's almost too soft- I suggest using a light hand when applying because these tend to break/crumble easily. I know I said "the swatches are high in pigmentation" and that's because, when I actually apply it on my lips, it isn't as pigmented and I find that the colors don't stay true to the tube. What I love most about these is that they are very moisturizing! I personally am not a fan of drying lipsticks, so that's a plus!
