The Return of Lip Glosses

I'm not a cosmetics professional or that into trends, so you can't really take the title I went with seriously. The title of this post is true for me- in JHS and HS (even in college), I only wore lip glosses. In fact, come to think of it, my first beauty purchase was a 99 cent strawberry scented clear lip gloss from a deli (I saw a friend apply it and I really liked how it smelled so I asked her where she got it. She told me that she bought it from a deli she passes by on the way to school. She told me that it was only a buck so I made her get me one.). It wasn't until I entered the work force that I began to wear lipsticks. There's something about wearing lipsticks that makes me feel more sophisticated and mature. Am I the only one who feels this way?

While I now own more lipsticks than I really need, I have been finding myself going back to glosses. First of all, the lip glosses that are out now are way, way better than the 99 cent gloss I first bought. Today's  technology is incredible: lip lacquers, lip stains, lip tints,.. Who knew there were anything else other than lipsticks and lip glosses? I have graduated from fruity Lip Smackers and found a candy-colored world in Milani and Revlon (L'Oreal too) glosses. I recently picked up 2 Revlon's Ultra HD Lip Lacquers (Tourmaline and Pink Sapphire) and 2 of Milani's Brilliant Shine Lip Glosses (Coral Crush and Sweet Grapefruit).

Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer

Do I like it and why? Yes because it's pigmented and doesn't feel as heavy or sticky on my lips (compared to traditional glosses).

Would I repurchase? Yes

Milani Brilliant Shine Lip Gloss

Do I like it and why? Yes because it's also quite pigmented and is affordable (I believe I got it at $6 a piece).

Would I repurchase? Yes

I also really love the packaging of these glosses. I think they are really pretty!
