Neutrals for Spring

As mentioned in my previous fashion blog post- I love dresses! I'd wear dresses year round if I could. They're just so comfortable and easy and I am very into that. I also mentioned in my previous fashion post that I can't stay away from floral prints. Well, I actually managed to wear something else for a change! I bought this asymmetrical Spense dress a couple of summers ago. I guess I was attracted to the hem line but what drew me to it in the first place was the cinched waistline. It isn't obvious but if you look closely, the lines create an illusion of a smaller waist.

I also got it because it is a neutral piece. Sometimes, I prefer them so I can accessorize with colors. I also sometimes get into this mood to wear only neutrals. There would be times when all I want to wear is black, gray and white or even a lighter gray. I remember watching Natalie Imbruglia's "Torn" music video and obsessing over her outfit- I am a BIG fan of khaki and black together!

There's something classic and elegant about neutrals to me. Whether it's a dress or separates, I just think that wearing neutrals from head to toe is simplicity at its best. If the color combo was breakfast, it would be coffee and buttered croissant. Did I just make that metaphor and do you get it too?
