Last night was a bust evening for our NYC team- two events to cover at simultaneously. Scott headed to The Penn Club to test out various artisinal spirits from around the world; Michael and I went over to The Bowery Hotel's Rooftop for Filipino Fiesta. The event was hosted by the Philippine Department of Tourism as part of the Manhattan Cocktail Classic.
Guests were able to escape NYC's humidity for a different kind of heat- a more tropical one. Filipino Fiesta took the crowd to the 7,000 islands of the Philippines through different dishes of the country. The crowd at the gathering ate grubs from Jeepney,Zengo, Kuma Inn/Umi Nom and The Ugly Kitchen.
The hungry mob were offered mango tamarind candies and also got to cool of with three custom cocktails created by Maharlika's Enzo Lim. Guests had fun taking turns at the photo booths provided by The Digital Photo Booth and The Village Voice.
